Food flies ALL OVER the kitchen (it was almost comical how little actually hit the bowl I had placed underneath). Also, large pieces get stuck at the top so very little ends up shredded anyway and the crevice where the spout meets the lid is where all the small bits get stuck. I wish there was no spout on this and that it was just a regular cap, where you dump the bowl upside down to remove food after you're done shredding (removing the shredded food old school style, with a fork or spatula). I am returning it as it absolutely does not work properly. I ended up chopping things by hand. It's as though Black and Decker didn't even test drive this in a kitchen (it seems my blender is not the only one with this problem). Too bad.
