Wet leaves or dry, it moved everything easily and briskly. I got about 26,000 sq ft, gathered up nicely in about an hour. It should also be stated that this thing beats water or a broom for cleaning driveways, walk ways or decks ANY day. Vacuuming all the leaves out of the various nooks and crannies on our pool deck, was an absolute breeze. I would buy this machine for this reason alone. The machine did leave me with very very mild ghost vibrations in my hands at first but that was remedied by wearing my rubber coated work gloves. Yes, the machine felt a little heavier than I expected at the end of that hour but I am not so sure that that wouldn't be true of anything that you carry around for an hour and truth be told, it was not at all discouraging. The switch over of modes is quite painless and it took a steeper learning curve to get the right sweeping action back and forth, than I anticipated, to actually pickup leaves efficiently, you have to take it slow and work the edges of your pile. Despite really good suction, you need to take things slower than in the blower mode, to give it the chance to do it's thing, especially if your leaves are wet. What's most amazing is the fact that this thing mulches to a really fine consistency and I firmly believe in their 16:1 natural state to mulch ratio claim. Went to the curb with 4 bags. We could have done it with 3 but the darn things were getting heavy, so we spread them out. For us taller folks, a telescopic nozzle would be really nice as I find this one could be another 6-8 inches longer to be more comfortable but it is not at all BAD as is. All in all, I was worried that I might need one of the gas powered blowers for the size and workload of my yard but price and uncertainty about the whole thing, made me go with this unit based on it's reviews. I am super happy that I did. It is super easy to reconfigure, it is easy to operate, it is VERY effective in both the blowing and the vaccum modes. It is also quite a bit quieter than I expected, which is not to say that it is really quiet but it is much better than I thought it would be. Hard to explain, but you'll see it during use. Part of me thinks that there's a safety reason for it, but in general, I found it kind of a hassle to undo. Putting the guard, or the bag on was not an issue whatsoever. It clips in real easy. The other thing to know about this blower is that the plugin end of your extension cord needs to fit into a sleeve that is fitted around the blower's plug. This rendered all my extension cords useless, and I had to buy a cord JUST for the blower. Otherwise works great.
